Tour the Zuishin’an Tearooms at the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Washington (JCCCW) on Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00-2:00PM. February to mid-December, except holiday weekends and August.

Reservations are not required and Tours are free with a complementary bowl of matcha courtesy of King County 4Culture.

We are located on the 2nd floor of the East Building above the Hosekibako Resale Shop. The entrance is through the green door in the alley to the north of the building.

The late Ohki Sōgen Roshi, of Ryobō’an Temple in Chiba, Japan, bestowed upon our tearooms the name Zuishin'an. The characters are zui meaning propitious, shin meaning heart-mind, and an meaning hut.  Combined the meaning becomes “hut where the mind directly experiences things as they are, without judgement or preferences.”

We sincerely appreciate the generous support of King County 4Culture in ‘Building for Equity’ funding for the tearoom construction, as well as ‘Arts Sustained’ support for programs throughout the year.
